The cottage is approx. 10 miles away from the nearest beach at Hastings. Nearby also are Bexhill, Camber Sands (near Rye) and Eastbourne which have award-winning beaches Dog Friendly Places - Sandy Beaches at Camber Sands, well worth the visit, miles of sand and dunes for dogs to play in. So homely and very welcoming owners and comfortable cottage.We hope to return in the Summertime to venture further as the cottage is ideally based in the midst of 1066 Country and there is so much to see and to do in this historic and very pretty area that we never saw it all this stay!Our dogs loved the walks in the village and woods nearby and the patio at the cottage is great for them too.The pub is just across the road - very convenient ! Easy to get to many local and more distant areas Large supermarkets in Hastings but local shop is very well stocked and useful that it is a PO too! Local produce sold in season nearby too and Battle not far by car and has super shops and tea room to die for!We loved that the Steam Railway and Bodiam Castle and Battle Abbey and Rye - so nearby and there are at least 3 lovely garden nurseries in the very local area too as we are keen gardeners! Spent bags of money in them!!!Lovely!
