Rock How holiday cottage is situated in the centre of Eskdale village in Cumbria. This dog friendly cottage has stunning views of the Eskdale valley, one of the most tranquil parts of the Lake District. The cottage itself is in beautiful order throughout, offering comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people

The front door leads to a hallway with the sitting room to one side and the spacious dinning room and separate kitchen to the other. The snug is reached from the kitchen and has comfy chairs and a TV. The sitting room has an open fire, TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped.

Upstairs are three bedrooms - one double and two twins, and a family bathroom which has electric shower, toilet and sink.

Outside there is a raised and enclosed garden to the side and rear with garden furniture.

Local Area - Local Area Eskdale is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of dog friendly walks, either on the fells or along the banks of the River Esk, which flows from Scafell at the top of the valley down to the estuary at Ravenglass, an old fishing village complete with a ruined Roman bath-house. The river has natural pools for swimming and is a popular place for canoeing and fishing. The famous Ravenglass & Eskdale Miniature Railway runs along the valley, its steam trains making the leisurely seven-mile journey down to the sea - Irton Road station is just ten mins walk from Rock How Cottage.

There are five pubs in the valley (the Bower House Inn is just a ten minute walk away), all welcoming children and serving real ales and a wide choice of good food. The village shop is just a five minute walk away and sells a comprehensive range of goods, including groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers. There is some reception for mobile phones on the Orange network
